Educational Technology Specialist Certification

The Educational Technology Specialist Certification Pathway: Additional Classroom Teaching Certificate are designed for teachers who hold a valid New York State Teaching Certificate and wish to earn Educational Technology Specialist Certification without having to earn an additional degree.

  • What are the program requirements?

    Prerequisites for this program are:

    • a valid base teaching certificate,
    • a master's degree,
    • fingerprint clearance. 

     

    This pathway does not require a practicum, field study, observations or student teaching. Teachers who are NYS certified do not need to complete student teaching again when they are applying for additional certification. For the full list of certification requirements in New York, visit the Office of Teaching Initiatives webpage.
