New Student Orientation FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is New Student Orientation? Is it important to attend?
Molloy’s New Student Orientation program brings the University community together to warmly welcome new students and help them begin their college journey with confidence. During Orientation, students will have the opportunity to become better accustomed to the academic environment, support services, and important campus locations that will help them be successful during their time at Molloy. Students will also have the chance to meet other new students, begin building friendships, and learn more about campus life, student involvement opportunities, and what it means to be part of the Molloy community.
-
Is New Student Orientation mandatory?
Yes, New Student Orientation will prepare you for a great start at Molloy by answering questions about academic, social, and logistical matters before you begin your classes in September; for this reason, attendance at orientation is required. There are two traditional orientation programs to choose from in July: July 15 or July 21. If you cannot attend either of these, there is a make-up orientation session, Last Call – August 31. Please sign up for one of these sessions using the link on our webpage: Summer 2026 Last Call Orientation
-
Is overnight stay in the residence hall mandatory?
No. Students who are participating in the optional Day 2 activities are invited to stay overnight. However, confirming your attendance at New Student Orientation means making the commitment to be on campus from 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 pm on July 15 or July 21.
-
What should I bring to New Student Orientation?
If you are staying overnight for the optional second day, we encourage you to bring bedding (twin xl sheets, blanket, and pillow), comfortable clothes, notebook and pen, shower shoes, sneakers, sunglasses, sweatshirt, toiletries, towel, and medications.
