Summer Financial Aid

Students who register for summer courses may qualify for a Federal Pell Grant, the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) Grant, and federal or private student loans.

*NOTE: Summer Federal Loans are deducted from your yearly federal loan eligibility.

Due to new federal regulations effective for the 2026-2027 academic year, all federal loans will be prorated per the number of credits taken.

How to Apply For Summer Aid

  • File the 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at FAFSA® Application | Federal Student Aid. Summer bills are due in April 2026, so filing the FAFSA early is paramount. ·

  • To complete the 2026 Summer Loan Request form, please visit the My Finances page of the Lions Den, or the Printable Forms page.

  • Register for summer classes. (Please note, for the use of federal loans - Undergraduate students must be registered for at least 6 credits applicable to their degree. Graduate students must be registered for at least 4.5 credits applicable to their degree.)
