Operating Room Training Program for RN's
Course number: NU0147
Tuition: $3,995 (Payment Plan Available)
Job opportunities for registered nurses, including operating room nurses, are expected to grow faster than average, by 9% in the decade from 2020-2030, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Perioperative nursing provides access to a variety of nursing career paths, including: staff nurse, circulator, educator and more. The perioperative environment is unique and different form all other specialty areas. There will never be two days that are typically the same.  You will learn something every day while being the primary advocate for patients.
Operating room nursing is an increasingly complex area for patient care, characterized by rapid changes in technology and economic influences. This course offers a structured learning opportunity with emphasis on the application of theoretical knowledge to the professional practice and is designed to give professional nurses without previous operating room experience an introduction to the basic competencies of the perioperative RN role.
Through the combination of classroom didactic and clinical experiences you will be given the opportunity to develop basic operating room skills.
The course will follow the framework of Peri-op 101 and will include clinical experiences.
The course is be taught by Periop Directors, Nurse Educators, Nurse Managers, Endoscopic and perioperative ASU staff.

The classroom portion of the course will be conducted "live" online through Zoom. It will be held at the same date and times as indicated in the schedule. You will be able to take the course using any type of device that has internet access: PC, Mac, tablet, even a smartphone.
