 A message from Present Lentini

It is my pleasure to introduce you to our new Strategic Plan for 2023-2028 to Uphold, Unite, Usher, Utilize, and Update the New U. The plan is a product of the collaborative input from the entire Molloy University community, including faculty, staff, students, administration, and the Board of Trustees.  I am grateful to the Strategic Planning Committee that helped to lead the many conversations resulting in a comprehensive plan and setting the groundwork for the future of our institution.

Founded by the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville in 1955, Molloy University upholds its founding mission that embraces the pursuit of academic excellence anchored in the tradition of St. Dominic, forming a unique educational experience that develops both the mind and heart.  With steady and expansive growth over the years and moving to university status in 2022, the new plan unifies our efforts as we envision the future, calling us to develop graduates prepared for a diverse world that is ever more complex.

Our plan is created to deliver innovative ideas that will usher in new programs and practices that require adaptable skills necessitated by new and emerging disciplines and technologies.  To achieve our goals, we must utilize approaches for sustainable growth that are responsive to changing student demographics and rising costs, while being flexible and accommodating to a range of future students, from recent high school graduates to adult learners.

Becoming the university that we envision necessitates updating our infrastructure, including data and facilities, to be more agile in responding to demands for flexible teaching and learning models and to address shifting trends for using physical space in the workplace.

There are seven priorities grouped under our headings of Uphold, Unite, Usher, Utilize, and Update the New U plan.  I look forward with great confidence and anticipation as we work together to achieve our goals and to realize the Molloy University of the future.

Sincerely,
