Theta Phi Alpha

Theta Phi Alpha is a national women’s social fraternity and is a member of the National Panhellenic Conference. The mission of Theta Phi Alpha encompasses far more than providing a social network for college women. For more than 100 years, the sisters of Theta Phi Alpha have maintained a history rich in educational excellence, professional achievement, and a deep commitment to social service.
Theta Phi Alpha was founded at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor by ten women in August of 1912. This group of young women sought what all new students seek when they enroll on a college campus, a feeling of being home. By joining together, they provided support and friendship to one another to meet the challenges that they faced, and to create an organization that would enable future generations to share that bond.
