Molloy Among TIME’s Top 100 Colleges in the Nation
Molloy University has been named to TIME magazine's inaugural list of America's Best Colleges for 2026-2027, earning a place among the top 100 colleges and universities in the nation. The university is one of only 14 New York institutions in the Top 100 and the only college or university on Long Island to receive this distinction.
Molloy is honored to be recognized alongside renowned institutions such as Columbia University, Barnard College, and New York University.
The University earned the No. 85 spot in the 2026-2027 ranking, which evaluates institutions based on student outcomes, learning environment and attractiveness to students.
Student outcomes account for 75% of an institution’s overall score, making it the most heavily weighted component of the ranking. TIME considered factors including graduation rates, graduate earnings and the economic value an institution adds for its students. The remaining 25% of the score considers an institution’s learning environment and attractiveness, including measures related to educational costs, student resources and demand.
Molloy earned an overall score of 79.93, securing its place among the top 100 institutions nationwide, reinforcing the University’s growing recognition for delivering an education that translates into strong outcomes for students and graduates.
"Molloy University's place among TIME magazine's America's Best Colleges is a powerful affirmation of our mission and impact,” said President James Lentini, DMA. “As the only Long Island institution ranked in the Top 100, we are especially proud to see our commitment to student success, career outcomes, and educational value recognized on a national stage. This honor belongs to our entire community and reflects the extraordinary work taking place every day at Molloy."
The recognition from TIME is the latest in a series of national accolades for Molloy. Recent rankings have highlighted the University for academic quality, affordability, social mobility and the earning potential of its graduates, reflecting Molloy’s continued commitment to providing an education that prepares students for meaningful careers and lives of purpose.
