McCardle Named Dean of Molloy School of Education and Human Services
Rockville Centre, NY – June 13, 2025 – Molloy University is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Melissa McCardle as the new Dean of the School of Education and Human Services. Dr. McCardle brings a wealth of experience in social work, education, research, and leadership to her new role.

"Her dedication to academic excellence, research, and community engagement will be invaluable as we continue to advance our mission and prepare our students for successful careers."
Dr. McCardle has been a distinguished faculty member at Molloy University, teaching courses in both the undergraduate and Fordham-Molloy graduate social work programs. Her extensive research and scholarship include collaboration with the University of Connecticut School of Social Work on voter engagement among social work students, a study on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategic planning with K-12 school systems, and a mixed-method study of racial segregation perceptions in K-12 schooling on Long Island.
“Dr. McCardle’s academic experience, commitment to excellence and collaborative leadership style made her the perfect choice to serve as the next Dean of our School of Education and Human Services,” said Provost Michelle Piskulich.“ She is an innovator in a time of rapid change and recognizes the benefit of engaging with partners and employers to ensure our students can meet the needs of our community. I am excited to have her as a member of my leadership team.”
In addition to her academic contributions, Dr. McCardle serves as a Consulting Editor for the Journal of Baccalaureate Social Work Education and is a Review Board Member for The Journal of Human Rights and Social Work.

I look forward to the work ahead as we advance interdisciplinary collaboration, foster innovations across education, social work and clinical mental health counseling, and deepen our impact in the communities we serve.”
Dr. McCardle holds a B.A. in Psychology from Hofstra University, an MSW from New York University, and a Ph.D. in Social Welfare from The Graduate Center, City University of New York.
