Let’s Go Lions! Molloy Women’s Soccer Opens Season Sept. 4

The Molloy women’s soccer team is back—and they’re ready to defend their crown! The Lions kick off their 2025 season on Thursday, September 4 at 1:00 p.m. with a home opener against Bentley at the Rockville Centre Sports Complex. With championship buzz and star talent on the field, this is your chance to be part of something special.

Why should you be there?

Because Molloy is the team to beat! The Lions were picked to three-peat in the East Coast Conference (ECC) Preseason Poll, earning 58 points and seven first-place votes. That’s not just confidence—it’s a statement. Leading the charge are two powerhouse players who lit up the field in 2024: Madison Keenan and Isabella Muro.

Madison Keenan, the reigning ECC Defensive Player of the Year, returns as a captain and defensive anchor. Her leadership and versatility helped Molloy dominate last season—and she’s only getting stronger. Keenan, a junior from Selden, N.Y., is coming off a stellar 2024 season where she was named an All-American by the D2CCA (only the third in Molloy women’s soccer history!) and earned Academic All-American honors. She started all 19 games, helped secure seven shutouts and contributed 13 points with 4 goals and 5 assists.

Isabella Muro, a dynamic midfielder from Middle Village, was named the Most Outstanding Player of the ECC Tournament and earned a spot on the All-East Region First Team. She led the team with 21 points, scoring 8 goals and dishing out 5 assists. With her sharp footwork and elite shot accuracy (ranking 23rd in the nation!), Muro is a constant threat every time she touches the ball.

With fierce competition lined up—Daemen, Queens, Mercy, and more—the Lions need their community behind them. So grab your friends, wear your Molloy colors, and come out to support a team that’s not just chasing another title—they’re building a legacy.

Let’s fill the stands and show Bentley what Molloy pride looks like. See you September 4!
