Former Molloy basketball star John Petrucelli, who graduated in 2014 and played professionally in the NBA’s G League, recently enjoyed success in the Italian Basketball League. Here are his thoughts on a milestone win for his team:
"Playing with Germani Brescia in Italy has been an unbelievable experience. It has brought me to a country I’ve always dreamed of being in, while allowing me to play the sport I love at a high level. This past weekend we won the Italian Cup, which is a mid-season tournament for the top eight teams in the league. We went into the tournament as an 8 seed and had to beat the 1, 4, and 2 seeds. The Italian cup is a huge deal culturally, and has never been won in Brescia’s history. It was a special feeling to be able to bring the cup to Brescia and make history."
