Dr. Mitchell Selected as Honoree


Headshot of Donald "DJ" MitchellMolloy’s Vice President for Mission Integration and Inclusion, Donald ‘DJ’ Mitchell, Ph.D., has been selected as a Long Island Business News 2025 Impact and Inclusion honoree. He will be honored at the upcoming Impact and Inclusion Awards & Summit: “Fostering Belonging in the Workplace” on March 18, 2025. All honorees were judged on documented professional accomplishments and civic involvement.

Dr. Mitchell reports directly to President James Lentini as a member of President Lentini’s Cabinet, the University’s senior leadership team. In his role, he serves as the key advisor to the President and Cabinet regarding University-wide initiatives related to Mission Integration and Inclusion.

He holds a Ph.D. in educational policy and administration with a concentration in higher education from the University of Minnesota—Twin Cities, a master’s degree in educational leadership from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Shaw University. He also holds a diversity and inclusion certificate from Cornell University and the Certified Diversity Executive credential from the Institute for Diversity Certification.

The Long Island Business News Impact and Inclusion Summit was designed to help leading organizations unlock sustainable growth and inclusive leadership. The event will demonstrate how creating environments where employees truly belong drives market growth, increases profitability, and delivers sustained competitive advantage. The related awards celebration will recognize those who champion workplace cultures where everyone thrives.
