Carnegie Hall Event to Benefit CAP21 Musical Theatre Program
Molloy University and its acclaimed CAP21 Musical Theatre program announced a benefit concert at Carnegie Hall featuring Emmy-nominated Broadway personality Seth Rudetsky taking center stage for Seth Rudetsky and His Broadway Friends on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available now at carnegiehall.org.
The dazzling evening of music and storytelling will showcase the extraordinary talents of Santino Fontana, Norm Lewis, Andrea Martin, Jessie Mueller, and Will Swenson, alongside Long Island’s own South Shore Symphony. With more stars to come! Rudetsky, known for his quick wit and deep Broadway knowledge, will serve as host and pianist, weaving unforgettable performances together with his trademark behind-the-scenes anecdotes.
“It will be an intimate and thrilling evening of Broadway stars singing the songs that made them famous and sharing the songs they performed before they were stars-from junior high to community theatre to Broadway,” said Rudetsky.
This one-night-only event will shine a spotlight on Molloy University’s CAP21 program—a world-class musical theatre conservatory known for training luminaries such as Lady Gaga, Kristen Bell, and Matthew Morrison. CAP21 students split their studies between Molloy’s Rockville Centre campus and its teaching facility in Lower Manhattan, preparing for life onstage and off. The program’s most recent star, Nichelle Lewis (’21), exemplifies its impact—she rose above more than 2,000 hopefuls to land the iconic role of Dorothy in the 2024 Broadway revival of The Wiz.
“We are thrilled that our students and community will be connected to this extraordinary evening at Carnegie Hall,” said James Lentini, President of Molloy University. “Opportunities like this underscore Molloy’s role in preparing the next generation of performers, directors, and creators while celebrating Broadway’s enduring impact.”
The Molloy/CAP21 program offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre, blending rigorous academic study with conservatory-style training in acting, voice, dance, movement, and stagecraft. Students also receive professional development in audition technique and career preparation, culminating in a Senior Showcase for industry professionals in New York City.
With its proven track record of training Broadway-ready talent, the program continues to build Molloy’s reputation as a launchpad for exceptional performers—momentum that will be celebrated on one of the world’s most prestigious stages this November.
