The Office of Residence Life

The Office of Residence Life is located in the rear office of the Student Development Center. Residence Life is committed to establishing a positive atmosphere in Molloy's residential community. The Office of Residence Life coordinates both social and educational events to enhance the development of our community and enhance the residential experience. It is important that the residents have the ability to relax, study, and play in a safe, comfortable and healthy environment, free of judgment and bias. The office is staffed with a Coordinator of Residence Life, a Residence Hall Director, Resident Assistants (student para-professionals), and a Graduate Assistant to ensure that the resident students have the best possible residence life experience.

The Office of Residence Life at Molloy College looks to foster student learning and development by providing opportunities for educational, spiritual, and personal growth. Residence Life consistently enhances the Dominican traditions of study, spirituality, service and community.

About the Buildings

With the addition of our second residence hall, there are now over 250 student beds available. There are many different housing options for our students which include single, double, or triple bedrooms and suite-style rooms. Each room provides every student with a bed, dresser, wardrobe or closet, desk and desk chair. All rooms are equipped with both wireless and wired internet, phone, and cable connections. All rooms are air-conditioned.  Both Fitzgerald Hall and Maria Regina Hall are co-ed facilities, however, students of opposite gender are separated by floor/wing.

Maria Regina Hall, one of the newest residence halls in New York, opened its doors for the first time in August 2014.  Maria Regina Hall is located on the south side of campus near the Student Development Center. The three-floor, coeducational building houses up to 101 students and is equipped with Triple, Double, Super Single, Single, and Suite-style rooms, bathrooms, a laundry room, a common room with a computer lounge, a cardio fitness center, and a 24/7 manned security desk by the front door. Five Resident Assistants are employed throughout the building and are there to provide programming, enhance the community, enforce policy, and help residents find services they may need. 

Room Sizes: All rooms are equipped with the following furniture per resident:  1 adjustable bed frame with a twin mattress, 1 desk and chair, 1 wardrobe with 2 drawers, and 2 under the bed dressers with 2 drawers.  

  • Standard Double Room: Approx. 200 sq. ft. (17' x 12')
  • Standard Single Room: Approx. 130 sq. ft. (17' x 8')
  • Super Single Room: Approx. 150 sq. ft. (17' x 9')
  • Triple Room: Approx. 230 sq, ft, (14' x 17')
  • Suite Single: Approx. 105 sq, ft. (8' x 14')
  • Suite Double: Approx. 200 sq, ft. (15' x 14')
  • Suite Common Room: Approx. 220 sq. ft. (10' x 22')

In August 2011, Fitzgerald Hall opened its doors for the first time and welcomed the first-ever residents of Molloy College.  Fitzgerald Hall is one of the newest residence facilities in New York. Located on the south side of the campus near Kellenberg Hall and the Sacred Heart Chapel, the three-floor, co-educational building houses 150+ students and is equipped with Double, Single, and Suite-style rooms, bathrooms, a laundry room, three study/recreational lounges, a lobby, and a security desk near the front door that is staffed 24 hours per day/7 days per week. A Resident Assistant (RA) is employed in each of the six wings and are there to provide programming, enhance the community, enforce policy, and help residents find services they may need.

Room Sizes: All rooms are equipped with the following furniture per resident:  1 adjustable bed frame with an extra-long mattress, 1 desk and chair, 1 wardrobe with 2 drawers, and 2 under the bed dressers with 2 drawers.  

  • Standard Double Room: Approx. 215 sq. ft. (18' x 12')
  • Standard Single Room: Approx. 148 sq. ft. (18' x 7.25')
  • Suite Single: Approx. 96 sq. ft. (8' x 12')
  • Suite Double: Approx. 140 sq. ft. (10' x 14')
  • Suite Common Room: Approx. 220 sq. ft. (10' x 22')

There is a Resident Assistant (RA) assigned to each floor/wing. Within each building is a laundry facility, study and lounge areas, and public computers and printers.  In the lower level of Maria Regina Hall there is a cardio fitness center. All operations and activities of the residence halls and the department are overseen by a professional staff consisting of the Coordinator of Residence Life and the Residence Hall Director.
