Music Dept. Honors Recital

On Wednesday, April 6th, the Molloy College Music Department and Kappa Nu Chapter, Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Society presented the annual Honor Recital in Madison Theatre.
Michael Munoz began the phenomenal night with a guitar performance of Prelude No. 1 by Heitor Villa-Lobos. Following his performance, Brianne Bunick, accompanied by Sylvia Foldes-Berman on her violin and Mindy Beck on piano, sang Morgen by Richard Strauss.
As the evening continued, Kiera Liantonio, accompanied by Mindy Baek on piano, sang There Will be Stars by John Duke, and was followed by Jason Kloos, accompanied by Grace Shin on piano, who sang Dalla Sua Pace by Mozart.
After the introductory performances, Michelle Rampal, Kappa Nu Chapter President; and Suzanne Sorel, chairperson, inducted Anne O'Rourke as the Undergraduate Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Society Inductee for 2016, an honor Ms. O'Rourke accepted graciously.
Following the award ceremony, Elizabeth Ingram on flute and Suk Hee Hong on piano performed the Sonata No. 4 in C Major by Bach. The next vocal performances by mezzo-soprano Dominique Goldstein was accompanied by James Montalbano on piano and were Chi vuol la zingarella by Giovanni Paisiello and Lungi dal caro bene by Giuseppe Sarti.
As the night progressed, soprano Theresa Bissex, accompanied by James Montalbano on piano, sang O del mio dolce ardor by Christoph Willibald von Gluck and Amorosi miei giorni by Stefano Donaudy. Closing the magical evening, Sylvia Foldes-Berman on violin, accompanied by Suk Hee Hong on piano, performed Meditation, from the opera Thais by Jules Massenet.
The Molloy College Music Department and Kappa Nu Chapter, Pi Kappa Lambda Honor society put on a beautiful set of performance that roused the crowd and electrified the Madison Theatre. Before the event's close, all of the performers took the stage for a final bow, where they were met with an outstanding applause for their wonderful performances.--
