Donors needed for upcoming Blood Drive
By Saniya Khan
Molloy College will be hosting its semi-annual Blood Drive on Tuesday, Oct 7 and Wednesday, Oct 8 from 9:30am to 6:30 pm in the back of the Public Square. Donors must be at least 110 pounds and in general good health.
Last year was the first time Long Island Blood Services held a friendly competition among all of the colleges on Long Island to see who could raise the most blood donations, and Molloy won with around 600 pints donated in total. The blood drive is usually held twice a school year, once in October and once in February, but October tends to see lower donations.
Last October, the Molloy community came out to give 115 donations from 345 people whereas the February drive raised 138 donations from 408 people. This semester's goal is 120 pints, and we are once again in competition with the rest of Long Island's colleges.
