This World Language Summit will gather world language directors from public school districts and world language teacher educators from universities in Nassau and Suffolk to discuss matters of urgent mutual concern. There will be a panel discussion on the pressing issues of the language teacher shortage, the quality of world language teacher classroom preparedness and language skills, and the connections between secondary schools and university world language teacher education. The panel will be followed by group discussions that will target these concerns and produce constructive steps going forward to address them. (CTLE credit will be available.)
