The Student Veteran's Club of Molloy College was established during the 2015-2016 academic year. The main purpose of the club is to promote camaraderie and serve as an outlet for positive social interaction among club members and the civilian community on and off campus. The club also serves as liaison for any veterans issues or concerns on campus.
In the spring, the Student Veteran's Club organized a t-shirt sale to raise funds to be donated to a non-profit organization called Peaceful Minds, located in Long Beach, New York. Peaceful Minds was founded by Amy Mahoney in order to provide support for disabled combat veterans suffering from PTSD, anxiety and depression. They provide free meditation, yoga, acupuncture and massage therapy to qualified individuals. The Molloy Student Veteran's Club raised over $800 and donated $600 to Peaceful Minds. This upcoming year they plan to fundraise with another t-shirt sale as well as hosting an obstacle course on campus.
