Why I Love Teaching at Molloy College
Molloy College is a close knit community. Students and faculty work together to help the students attain their goals. The small class size, caring faculty and staff, and the vibrant student body, combine to create a wonderful environment for learning and growing academically and professionally.
As my educational background is in the field of biology, I teach the physiology of respiration and find the subject fascinating.
My philosophy of education is based on the idea that students should not only learn to apply existing knowledge, but learn how to develop and use new knowledge to solve new problems. Education should teach students how to think and learn , inspiring students to become lifelong learners. A professionally competent practitioner possesses excellent technical skills, but also possesses exceptional clinical assessment and decision-making skills. The professionally competent respiratory therapist has the ability to analyze information, think critically, and make sound clinical decisions. Most importantly, a caring, compassionate respiratory care practitioner's primary concern is about their patients' welfare, and about continually learning how to give more effective care.
