Music Department Faculty and Staff
Hope Bagley is an adjunct instructor at Molloy College, currently teaching History of Jazz. She has also taught applied woodwinds, Orchestration, and Music of the Twentieth Century. Hope is the band director at New Hyde Park Memorial High School, where she directs the Junior and Senior Concert Bands, Marching Band, and Junior High Jazz Ensemble. Under her direction, the H. Frank Carey High School and Stamford High School Jazz Ensembles have competed at the Berklee High School Jazz Festival, and Stamford's Marching Band and Winter Percussion have garnered several awards. As musical director, Hope has enjoyed conducting many shows including Urinetown, Beauty and the Beast, Seussical the Musical, and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Hope has further expertise in music theory, having run the A.P. Music Theory program for the Sewanhaka Central High School District for eight years. She is an active woodwind player, performing in pits, brass bands, and jazz combos around the greater New York City area, and she managed the Brooklyn Jazz Rebellion big band for several years. She is a resident of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
