Adjunct Faculty: Music History and Applied Trumpet
George Berardinelli has been an Adjunct Professor at Molloy College since 2002. He holds degrees in Trumpet Performance and Education from the Manhattan School of Music where he studied with William Vacchiano and Joseph Alessi, and played under scholarship in the MSM Orchestra. He also studied with Carmine Caruso, Charles Colin and Bob McCoy.
As a free-lance trumpet player he has performed extensively in the classical, jazz, Latin and commercial genres with big bands including Boyd Raeburn, Tito Puente, Tito Rodriguez , Xavier Cugat, Ray Barretto, Eddie Palmieri and Alfredito; with the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra, the Gotham Brass Ensemble, and with the Minnewaska Chamber Ensemble. He worked in the jazz field with Teddy Wilson, Cozy Cole, Coleman Hawkins, Billy Butterfield and others. He played in show bands for Cab Calloway, Al Martino, Jerry Vale, Buddy Greco, Paul Sorvino and Eddie Fisher, and also performed in the Latin theatre with Celia Cruz, Daniel Santos and Bobby Capo. Additionally he has been active in the club-date field as a performer and contractor. As an educator at Five Towns College, he served as Coordinator of the Music Department and Dean of the college. His areas of specialization include Trumpet Performance and Pedagogy, Harmony, Jazz Harmony, Orchestration, Music History, Finale, Arranging and Conducting.
