Fall 2016 Poetry Events at Molloy College Hosted by Barbara Novack, Writer-in-Residence
Sunday, September 25 at 3 p.m. - Reception Room, Kellenberg Hall
Poetry event featuring Jack Coulehan poet, physician, and medical educator, author of six collections of poetry, most recently The Wound Dresser, Robert Pinsky's selection as finalist for the 2016 Dorset Prize (Tupelo Press). An open reading will follow the featured poet.
Sunday, October 16 at 3 p.m. - Reception Room, Kellenberg Hall
Poetry Event featuring Carolyn Raphael, Poetry Coordinator Great Neck Plaza and of the annual Great Neck Plaza Poetry Contest, author of three poetry collections, most recently Dancing with Bare Feet, and musical guest Andrew Lubman, multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter and memorable performer. An open reading will follow the features.
Sunday, November 6 at 3 p.m.
Poetry Event featuring Richard Jeffrey Newman, whose work explores the impact of both feminism and classical Persian poetry on our lives. For My Son, A Kind of Prayer is his most recent poetry collection, and Barbara Novack, Writer-in-Residence at Molloy College and member of the English Department, whose most recent book, Do Houses Dream?, was finalist for the Blue Light Press 2015 Poetry Prize. At this reading Barbara Novack will donate 25% of book sales to the Rev. Thomas Catania Memorial Scholarship for English majors. An open reading will follow the feature poets.
