Keeping in Time With Groove: An Experiential Exploration of Groove in Music Therapy

Explore the concept of groove in the context of music therapy. We will define it theoretically, delve into it through case vignettes, and play it on various instruments, with and without the use of technology.. Participants will learn simple yet effective ways of facilitating groove-based music styles and improvisational techniques in including Blues, Rock, Hard Rock, Salsa, Reggae, Bossa Nova, Funk, and Hip-hop. Cases of Musical Relationships Between Clients and Therapists: An Integrative Approach Rooted in Psychodynamic and Relational Understandings

This workshop demonstrates an integrative theoretical foundation deeply rooted in a psychodynamic and relational understanding of the therapist-client musical relationship and highlights the further development of analytical and analytically oriented music therapy. Longitudinal case studies and vignettes can illustrate this relational understanding as a core element of the integrative approach. Further information can be found by clicking here.
