Spring 2018 Conference:

When the Psyche Sings: Introduction to Vocal Psychotherapy

Friday, May 4, 2018, 9:30 AM-4:00 PM
Larini Room, Public Square Molloy College, NY

This program will provide opportunities for participants to experience Vocal Psychotherapy, a new In Depth Model of music psychotherapy that incorporates breath work, naturalsounds and vocal improvisation with verbal processing in order to facilitate a connection to oneself and others. Vocal Psychotherapy and the relationship between client and therapist, enables clients to access feelings, images and memories from the unconscious and integrate them into conscious awareness.

Students will have opportunities to observe and participate in voice-centered therapeutic experiences, exercises and interventions.

Speaker: Dr. Diane Austin DA, ACMT, LCAT is the Director of the Music Psychotherapy Center in New York City where she offers a two-year post-graduate certificate program in Vocal Psychotherapy.
