Prepare for a nursing career in clinical leadership & management roles


The purpose of the Baccalaureate Program in Nursing at Molloy College is to prepare the nurse generalist to practice in a variety of health care settings in beginning clinical leadership/ management roles. The program is designed to build on the liberal arts and sciences and provide a foundation for advanced study. Upon completion of the nursing program, students will complete an application for licensure as a registered nurse and take the NCLEX-RN licensure examination.

Baccalaureate nursing education is based on liberal arts and sciences. This foundation prepares graduates of the Molloy College program to communicate, evaluate and provide humanistic health care. Professional nursing education includes nursing’s scientific body of knowledge, which is augmented by the findings of multidisciplinary research. Baccalaureate education prepares the nurse generalist in a beginning leadership role as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team who is able to practice in a variety of settings.

Students take a total of 128 credits. Nursing courses total 65 credits and provide classroom and clinical exposure to all areas of nursing.

Alternate Pathways to a Nursing Degree


In addition to the traditional four year college program for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, Molloy University also offers programs for professionals to earn a nursing degree. Weather you are working in the field as an LPN or RN or studied something else in college and want to join the nursing profession, Molloy has a program that will allow you to obtain a BSN and begin or advance your career as a Registered Nurse.

  • RN to BSN

    The fully online, 120 credit, RN-BS Completion program for Registered Nursing provides advanced placement for Associate Degree or Diploma Program RN’s through either transfer of credit or through testing. Students complete the requirements for a BS degree in nursing.  The BS degree provides the foundation for advanced graduate studies.

  • LPN to BS and RN

    The purpose of the LPN to BS/RN Program is to provide an opportunity for Licensed Practical Nurses to obtain a baccalaureate degree in nursing.  This is accomplished through a program that recognizes the academic preparation and clinical practice experience of the LPN by providing advanced standing opportunities through credit equivalency and work experience, where applicable. Credit equivalency and work experience eligibility is determined by the Associate Dean. All LPN students must hold a current New York State registration as an LPN.

  • RN to BS-MS

    The fully online, 129 credit, RN/BS-MS Accelerated Program allows students to accelerate their learning by enrolling in both undergraduate and graduate courses throughout their program of study for the purpose of attaining both degrees.  Students are awarded a baccalaureate degree upon successful completion of the undergraduate requirements, and a master’s degree upon completion of the graduate requirements.

  • Accelerated and Dual Degree Undergraduate Nursing program

    The accelerated and/or dual degree program is for students with a prior bachelors degree who choose to pursue a career in nursing. The prior degree transfers in 98 credits leaving the related science courses and nursing courses. The baccalaureate nursing foundation prepares graduates of the Molloy College program to communicate, evaluate and provide humanistic health care. Professional nursing education includes nursing’s scientific body of knowledge, which is augmented by the findings of multidisciplinary research. Baccalaureate education prepares the nurse generalist in a beginning leadership role as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team who is able to practice in a variety of settings.
