Nursing

Molloy’s nursing programs prepare skilled, compassionate professionals who are focused on providing evidence-based care to improve people’s lives. Nurses, the largest group of healthcare providers in the US, deliver patient care services, lead people and organizations, generate and test interventions for nursing practice, and work to improve people’s health and quality of life across every setting where people have health needs, from hospitals to clinics to schools to community settings.

Our undergraduate programs offer a vibrant educational experience integrating theory and clinical practice within a framework of humanistic nursing practice valuing the inherent dignity of all people. Our students have rich clinical experiences including maternity/family nursing, pediatrics, adult health and illness, psychiatric mental health, and community health.     Students develop strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and ethical decision-making competencies, preparing them for evidence-based nursing practice and lifelong learning.

Graduate and doctoral programs in a variety of clinical specialty areas prepare students as advanced practice nurses, nurse executives, nurse educators, nurse researchers, and healthcare leaders, grounded in our philosophy of humanistic nursing practice.  Meaningful curricula, along with relevant  practicum or clinical experiences are directed toward  development of competencies for current and future advanced nursing roles, ethical leadership, professional advancement, ongoing contributions to the profession of nursing and lifelong learning.

Our faculty are expert clinicians, scholars and educators who are innovative and creative, friendly, and accessible to students and deeply committed to your success.  A low faculty- to- student ratio facilitates meeting your individual needs.  Students at every level in every nursing program have an academic advisor, as well as access to our extensive support services, to promote academic progress.

Both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs use our state-of-the-art Clinical Learning Center, located in The Barbara H. Hagan Nursing Center and at Molloy’s Amityville extension site.  The Clinical Learning Center is comprised of extensive, leading-edge skills and simulation laboratories, which offer a supportive, safe learning environment for the development and advancement of clinical skills, guided by expert nursing faculty and experienced nursing lab instructors.

Molloy's simulation program is endorsed by the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL).

All of Molloy’s nursing programs prepare our graduates to live the Molloy mission and to achieve their professional and career goals.  Earn your degree at Molloy University and take the best step toward becoming the nurse leader of tomorrow.
