Foundations for Success in Speech Language Pathology


Molloy’s Foundations for Success: Preparing for a master’s in Speech-Language Pathology program is designed to prepare students for the expectations of a graduate program in speech-language pathology. The 3.5 day “bootcamp” will provide participants an opportunity to build upon and strengthen the foundational knowledge required as they prepare to transition to graduate level course and clinical work.

    Preparing for a master’s in Speech-Language Pathology

    How might this program help me prepare for a master’s SLP program?

    • Curriculum and instructional activities are designed to address the content areas graduate students struggle with most.
    • Opportunities for clinical application of content are integral and integrated throughout the program.
    • Some guided clinical observation activity/time will be provided and documentation provided.
    • Activities and instruction supporting time and stress management, study skills, mindfulness and more, are also integrated into the curriculum and program agenda.

    Who will teach and mentor me in this program?

    • Subject area content is taught by Molloy faculty with content area expertise.
    • You will have opportunities to engage with and hear from current graduate students.

    Who is the program appropriate for?

    • This year’s program is appropriate for:
      • Students entering graduate SLP programs in the fall of 2026
      • Students who are rising undergraduate seniors.

    Where will the 2026 summer Foundations for Success in a Master’s SLP Program take place?

    • Students will meet each day on Molloy’s main campus at 1000 Hempstead Ave in Rockville Centre.
    • Some activities will also take place at our Speech, Language and Hearing Center at 30 Hempstead Ave in Rockville Centre

    When will the 2026 summer Foundations for Success in a Master’s SLP Program take place?

    • The program will run from June 2 through June 5, 2026.
    • Program hours are spread across 3 full days and one half day.
    • Beginning Tuesday June 2 through Thursday June 4, program hours will run from 8:30-3:30.
    • On Friday June 5, program activities begin at 11 am and conclude at 2:30 PM.

    Will meals be included? What about my dietary restrictions?

    • Breakfast and lunch are included Tuesday through Thursday.
    • Lunch is included on Friday.
    • Dietary restrictions can be accommodated, but you must let us know in advance when registering.

    How can I let people know I participated and took advantage of this opportunity?

    • A certificate will be provided upon completion of the “Foundations for Success in Graduate Speech-Language Pathology” program.

    How much does the program cost? Are there any opportunities for funding or scholarships?

    • Program costs and opportunities for full and partial funding are below:
      • Current Molloy undergraduate or graduate students confirmed for Fall 2026: $700
      • Non-Molloy students:

    $800

    • There are a limited number of partial and full scholarships available for both Molloy and non-Molloy students.
      • You can apply for these opportunities when you register
