Spring 2026 Speech-Language Pathology Convention
Molloy University's Fifth Annual Communication Sciences and Disorders Convention
“One Network, Many Perspectives, Shared Care: Sensory & Motor Considerations in Communication and Swallowing for Caregivers and Professionals.”
Friday, March 6, 2026; 8am - 4pm
Public Square, Molloy University, RVC Campus and Online via Zoom
This full day program focused on comprehensive and holistic care for individuals with varied communication and swallowing needs, features multiple concurrent sessions throughout the day. Expert speakers with varied research and clinical expertise, will provide evidence-based interventions and hands-on clinical practice experiences. Content of concurrent sessions is varied so that some sessions are appropriate for practicing SLPs and SLP students, and other content is most appropriate for caregivers, family members, and professionals across disciplines. Attendees have the option of attending in person or on Zoom though some sessions are only available in person.
This intermediate level program will provide attendees up to 0.6 ASHA CEUs in the area of speech-language pathology, when attended in person.
Online attendees may earn up to .5 ASHA CEU's.

While all attendees will attend the keynote address, each attendee will then choose varied short programs for the remainder of the day.

If you register for the in-person option the conference check-in, breakfast, lunch will be held in the Larini Room of the Public Square building (second floor) at Molloy's Rockville Centre campus located at 1000 Hempstead Avenue, Rockville Centre, New York 11571. The keynote address will be held in the Madison Theatre.

Concurrent Sessions
Conference participants will be able to pick from four/five topics presented during two (2), 2-hour concurrent sessions: from 10:15 am– 12:15 p.m. and 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. The topics can be found above in the section, "Time-ordered Agenda". Participants will be asked to pre-register for the topics that they would like to attend. In-person seating is limited, so please make your selections early.
Fee schedule for in person attendees
$140 fee paid prior to March 6, includes all in person programming, breakfast and lunch and CEU processing
Late registration on day of event increases to $150 (on site only, no online registration)

Refund Policy
If you withdraw from the program, a full refund is granted if notice of withdrawal is received one week prior to the program. Non-attendance in the program does not constitute a withdrawal. However, substitutions can be made until the day of the program at no charge.

Communication Sciences and Disorders Department
Molloy's Communication Sciences and Disorders Department continues to offer a comprehensive undergraduate program in Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology and also offers an M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology. The M.S. program in speech-language pathology at Molloy University is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Additionally, our Speech, Language and Hearing Center is located off campus in a new facility and continues to serve the community by providing an array of evaluation and treatment services.

1. Participants will identify how anatomy, physiology, sensory processing, and nervous system regulation interact to influence feeding disorders.
2. Participants will differentiate picky eating, atypical feeding, and true feeding aversions to support appropriate treatment planning.

1. Identify common signs and risk factors associated with feeding, swallowing, and communication difficulties in medically fragile adults.
2. Describe the roles of caregivers and speech-language pathologists in supporting safety and communication access.
3. Demonstrate practical strategies to support safe feeding, swallowing, and functional communication during daily routines.

Advanced Clinical Reasoning and Ethical Decision-Making in Feeding, Swallowing, and Communication for Medically Fragile Adults
1. Analyze complex medical, cognitive, and environmental factors that influence feeding, swallowing, and communication management in medically fragile adults.
2. Discuss ethical frameworks and risk–benefit considerations relevant to high-risk feeding and communication decisions.
3. Apply advanced clinical reasoning to develop individualized, interdisciplinary management plans that integrate caregiver goals and quality-of-life priorities.
