The Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) dissertation is the culmination of a student’s doctoral studies. The five-chapter document identifies a problem of practice, reviews the existing literature on the issue, demonstrates a qualitative and/or quantitative research study illustrating the problem and offers a solution to address the issue.  The successful final defense marks the completion of the student’s doctoral studies leading to graduation and the conferral of the doctor of education degree.
