Mother Cabrini Health Foundation Grant

Over the past several years, scholarships have been awarded to CMHC graduate students whom attended community events and health fairs with the Molloy Community Care Van. Students are asked to engage with underserved community members and offer psychoeducational programming, connecting folks to mental health resources, and other activities. Additionally, we have entered into a partnership with the Opening Word Program. This program supports immigrant women with literacy/ESOL, job readiness, and citizenship preparation. Our focus at the Opening Word site is to offer psychoeducational groups and individual counseling services on site. There are three locations: Amityville, Wyandanch, and Huntington Station.

Molloy University has been awarded the Mother Cabrini Grant for 2023. It is our goal to provide care for the greatest number of underserved community members, and to distribute scholarship money to students with a desire to serve these communities. We hope to provide maximal financial support/impact for deserving students, and a high-quality service/experiential learning component to your internship.

TWO $3,300.00 scholarships will be awarded for EACH semester (spring, summer, and fall). Each student will be expected to attend a minimum of 10 (3 hour) events, participate in a weekly 1-hour supervision, and approximately 2 hours for weekly preparation/indirect service. You may apply for multiple semesters. This internship opportunity would be a supplement to your current practicum/internship.

  • How to Apply - Cabrini

You may apply for this internship opportunity by submitting your resume, a letter of interest, and how this scholarship would assist you in your practicum/internship experience. Please include the semester(s) you are applying for (spring, summer, fall).
