Accelerated Second Degree/B.S.-M.S. Nursing Programs
An accelerated Second Degree Nursing Program is designed for individuals with a bachelor's (or higher) degree in a non-nursing major, who wish to pursue careers as a professional nurses. This highly personalized program accepts students who may complete prerequisite courses at Molloy College and is designed for those who benefit from flexibility in life/study balance.
Students may be admitted into the B.S. in Nursing or dually admitted into both the B.S. and M.S. in Nursing Programs. Students in the Accelerated B.S. in Nursing earn a bachelor of science degree in the nursing major and are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX-RN) and to apply for licensure as registered nurses. Students admitted to the dual degree sequence will be awarded the baccalaureate degree after successful completion of the undergraduate requirements and continue into the M.S. program. Permission to take graduate courses while completing the B.S. in Nursing is individualized according to G.P.A. After earning the B.S. in Nursing, students are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX-RN). Licensure as a registered nurse is needed in order to continue with graduate nursing courses after completion of the B.S. Students are required to have the equivalent of one year of full-time clinical experience as an RN prior to beginning specific graduate nursing courses with a clinical or experiential practicum requirement.

Once the B.S. is earned, students may continue their studies and enhance their careers by completing their coursework for an M.S. in an advanced role in nursing.
