Ethical Dilemmas of Students and Faculty: In Their Own Voices

This session, featuring Veronica Feeg, focuses on her recent participation on a panel at the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) on ethics in nursing education. Dr. Veronica Feeg completed a research study using the NSNA membership to explore what students and faculty reported as "ethical dilemmas" in their educational experiences. The data were analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively to describe "in their own words" what they perceived as ethical dilemmas. The results present an interesting picture of the differences in perception of what constitutes "moral courage" and provides recommendations for faculty to address in this "Year of Ethics" launched by the American Nurses Association (ANA) in conjunction with the newly published Code of Ethics
