Christine Miaskowski, RN, P.hD., FAAN Professor and Vice Chair for Research American Cancer Society Clinical Research Professor Sharon Lamb Endowed Chair in Symptom Management Research In this session, Dr. Miaskowski provides insights on how to build a program of research in symptom management with oncology patients. Specific content that she included was the use of common tools to assess symptoms and current approaches to identify patients with a higher symptom burden. In addition, she discusses some of her more recent findings on phenotypic and molecular characteristics associated with fatigue and symptom clusters in patients undergoing radiation therapy.
