Faculty Badges

The Office of Blended and Online Learning (BOL) recognizes faculty who have demonstrated commitment to excellence in the online design of their courses with digital badges issued through Credly. These badges can be shared on our website, in marketing materials, and on social media to celebrate your success.

For answers to frequently asked questions about microcredentials that can be earned through BOL, see the Badges page of our BOL LibGuide. Molloy faculty who would like to earn these microcredentials should contact our office at CourseDesign@molloy.edu

Quality Online Course Design (QOCD)

Molloy University, Office of Blended and Online Learning, Quality Online Course Design Badge

The QOCD Badge celebrates courses that meet the standards of Molloy’s Quality Course Design Rubric, which represents a subset of the Quality Matters (QM) Rubric

The criteria to complete the QOCD Badge include:

  • Completion of the professional development course: Reviewing Course Design with Quality Matters. See the LibCal for BOL Faculty Development to register.
  • Consultation with an instructional designer from BOL to ensure that the course design meets all standards on the Quality Course Design Rubric.
  • Review of the course design by a team including a neutral instructional designer and peer faculty (and previous badge earner).

For a course to be eligible for the QOCD Badge, it must be designed in a fully online modality (asynchronous, synchronous or mixed) and have been taught within the past year in the same modality.

We are proud to present the faculty who have designed courses that have earned the QOCD Badge and the instructional designer with whom they worked.
