Sabbatical Committee Membership
A sabbatical is a leave awarded to a full‑time faculty member to pursue a substantial academic project in the humanities, arts, or sciences for the purpose of attaining professional growth which redounds to the benefit of Molloy College.
Faculty Members may apply for a sabbatical in the fall of their seventh year of continuous full-time teaching. Interested faculty are encouraged to read the Sabbatical Policy and may access the required forms on the Faculty Council webpage.
The Sabbatical Committee is responsible for:
- Examining the sabbatical applications and proposals of faculty candidates
- Recommending to the President of the College and Vice President of Academic Affairs/Dean of the Faculty the names of eligible faculty members for sabbatical
- Initiating any changes in sabbatical policy to be presented for approval to the Faculty Council and subsequently to the faculty at large
- Receiving/evaluating oral and written reports from sabbaticants upon completion of their sabbaticals. The Sabbatical Committee consists of four elected full time faculty members and one faculty councilor
