Dawn DiStefano, BBA, MBA
Professor DiStefano became a full-time faculty member of Molloy College in Fall 2015. Previously, she served as an adjunct professor within the Business Division at Molloy College while teaching adjunct within the Marketing Department at Nassau Community College, after the birth of her daughter, Mia.
Prior to joining Molloy, through hard work and committment, Professor DiStefano enjoyed a distinguished career at Nassau Community College (NCC) where she began teaching as a full-time professor in the Marketing Department. She focused on her teaching, committee work, advisement, recruitment and her social responsibility as a faculty member. Her primary area of expertise is Marketing and Management.
In May 2011, Professor DiStefano received an award for Servicing Learning and later that same year, was promoted to Executive Director of the Nassau Community College Foundation. In that role, her primary focus was growing student scholarships, managing grants, special events and various college-related, fund-raising initiatives. Professor DiStefano successfully partnered with the President of NCC as well as the faculty, to pioneer the electronic offering of student scholarships fully online.
Before her transition to academia, Professor DiStefano's primary career was in banking and finance where she held a position as Client Service Specialist at Charles Schwab & Co., focusing on daily cashiering, transfer of accounts and retention dealing with death and divorce. While serving in this role she acquired her Series 7 and Series 63 licenses and became an Investment Consultant at Fidelity Investments.
Professor DiStefano also served as Senior Gift Officer at the American Red Cross, heading up fund-raising initiatives for Long Island and reporting to the Greater New York Region Chief Development Officer. Well accomplished, she doubled fund-raising goals for their Annual Gala and secured a quarter of a million dollar donation. In addition, she was successful in securing this business relstionship - at the same giving level - the following year.
She holds a BBA Degree in Business Management from Hofstra University - where she was awarded the Top Scholar of her graduating class - an MBA in General Business from Dowling College and is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Professional Studies Program in Business, with a concentration in Marketing at Pace University, Manhattan.
