Tutoring Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is there a fee for this service?
No, if you are registered in and regularly attending the class, it is a free service. On the other hand, if you are qualified to tutor others, you will be compensated for your services.
2. Will I be tutored on an individual basis?
Tutoring sessions are scheduled according to mutual availability of time. You may be assigned to a one-on-one or group session. Groups never exceed more than three at a time.
3. Will I be assigned a professional tutor?
That depends on who is available at the same time you are. You may be working with a professional, graduate student, or peer. If a student has a special need, such as a learning disability, every attempt is made to procure a professional tutor.
4. How many courses may I be assisted in during a semester?
You may apply for assistance for two courses per semester.
5. How much help is given each week?
You may apply for one or two hours of assistance in each course during a semester. Although we cannot guarantee two hours, every effort will be made to accommodate such requests.
6. Where does the tutoring take place?
The tutoring room is located on the lower level in the Casey Building, Room 2. Other accommodations may be available but all sessions must be conducted on campus.
