The Energeia Partnership brings together a diverse group of ethical leaders from Long Island's public, private and not-for-profit sectors to help address this region's most complex issues: education, institutional racism, poverty and the working poor, land use, energy, transportation, healthcare and media/social networking.

Also known as the Academy for Regional Stewardship at Molloy University, Energeia is committed to educating leaders for the benefit of all people who live and work on Long Island. Each year, the program assembles a "class" of no more than 50 ethical, proven leaders that participates in a dynamic, two-year academy featuring a series of one-day programs, each focusing on a particular issue.

Mission

The Energeia Partnership is a leadership academy dedicated to identifying and addressing the serious, complex and multi-dimensional issues challenging the Long Island region.

Goal

Our goal is to recruit proven ethical leaders in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors of Long Island and furnish them with the information, network and support necessary for corrective action, namely: to serve as change agents, imagining new possibilities for the Long Island region, a necessity for improving the quality of life for all Long Islanders.

Philosophy

In keeping with the tradition of Molloy University, the philosophy of The Energeia Partnership is to create a dynamic learning environment for Long Island leaders committed to action on behalf of justice, the dignity of the human person and the protection of those natural resources entrusted to us.

Those associated with The Energeia Partnership – staff, board of advisors, and faculty, with passion and a deep sense of urgency, will focus on achieving excellence in empowering the Long Island region with leaders able and willing to serve as trustees, leaders who act with integrity on behalf of the common good, to strengthen and transform our region for our future and for our children's future.

“Energeia”- A Greek word used by Aristotle to describe the demonstration of inner character in deeds. It is goodness plus efficiency; it is focused, purposeful, meaningful, effective, energetic action.
