Call for Proposals

Veritas in the Modern World
18th Biennial Colloquium of Dominican Colleges and Universities
Molloy University
Rockville Centre, NY
June 8-11, 2026

The 2026 Colloquium invites Dominican higher education colleagues to engage the enduring Dominican pursuit of Veritas—truth—in dialogue with the challenges and hopes of the modern world. In an era marked by rapid change, cultural pluralism, and contested understandings of truth, we gather to reflect on how our Dominican mission equips us to seek truth with integrity, courage, and hope.

The Dominican tradition grounds our work in classrooms, chapels, offices, residence halls, athletic fields, and at every level of institutional decision-making. This Colloquium invites proposals that explore and demonstrate how Veritas can be lived out and advanced today—through presentation, interactive engagement, or reflective experience.

Guiding Questions

Truth and the Human Experience
How does the pursuit of Veritas take shape in the complexity of human experience—through art, science, culture, spirituality, or personal journey?
In what new or unexpected ways is Veritas revealed, questioned, or embodied in our contemporary moment?

Truth and Community
How do we inspire students and colleagues to pursue truth in community, grounded in respect, dialogue, and shared inquiry?
What stories or practices illustrate how truth-seeking strengthens bonds of trust and community life?

Truth and the Common Good
How can the search for truth guide us in addressing polarization, injustice, or misinformation in today’s society?
In what ways do our programs, partnerships, or research embody Veritas as a pathway to justice, healing, and sustainability?

Truth and the Dominican Heritage
How does Dominican spirituality, preaching, and charism illuminate our understanding of truth in contemporary contexts?
How can experiences such as the Fanjeaux Seminar, or the study of Dominican history and thought, shape professional practice and personal vocation today?

This call for proposals invites you to bring forward your wisdom, creativity, and critical insight. Together, we will reflect on how Veritas continues to inspire and challenge Dominican institutions of higher education in the modern world.
