Assistant Vice President, Real Estate Strategy & Facilities Operations

Molloy University seeks a strategic and forward-thinking leader to serve as Assistant Vice President of Real Estate Strategy & Facilities Operations, a newly elevated role at the center of the University’s next phase of growth and transformation.

As Molloy continues to expand its academic programs, enrollment footprint, and community impact, the University is focused on re-imagining how its physical campus and real estate assets can best support long-term institutional goals. This role offers an exciting opportunity to design and execute a creative, mission-aligned campus master plan that advances growth, innovation, and student success while preserving Molloy’s strong sense of community and identity.

Working closely with the President, CFO, Cabinet, and campus stakeholders, the AVP will translate academic vision and enrollment growth into thoughtful, financially responsible space solutions—whether through renovation, new development, partnerships, or optimization of existing assets.

  • Direct workforce planning, staffing, and operational budgets for facilities teams.
  • The AVP for Facilities is a member of the Molloy Emergency management team and is considered a first responder in emergency situations and is the incident commander for weather related emergencies. The AVP should be able to respond to emergency calls 24/7 on-campus and at offsite campus locations.

Capital Projects & Construction Management

  • Oversee planning, design, and construction of capital projects including renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and new development.
  • Establish design standards and ensure projects meet sustainability goals, accessibility requirements, and regulatory compliance.

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Manage facilities operating budgets and capital programs, ensuring responsible stewardship of University resources.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide strategic leadership and supervision for the Real Estate and Facilities team, fostering a collaborative and service-oriented culture.
  • Partner with academic and administrative leaders to ensure campus facilities effectively support teaching, research, and student life.
  • Serve as a liaison with municipal agencies, community partners, and utilities, and provide updates to senior leadership on capital planning and campus development initiatives.
  • The AVP will be expected to work with local and village officials on obtaining permits and close outs of capital construction or renovation projects as well as the Nassau County and State Fire Marshals to maintain fire safety and code compliance.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Architecture or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management, real estate strategy, campus planning, construction management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading facilities operations, capital projects, or real estate portfolios in complex organizations.
  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing multidisciplinary teams and budgets.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and strategic planning skills.
