LEADERSHIP SCHOLAR
Molloy Leadership Scholars are full-time undergraduate students who served as active members of student council, Model Congress, Moot Court, or other student clubs and organizations during their high school or community college years. Leadership Scholars are committed to leadership development and enhancing their leadership experiences as Molloy students.
Eligibility - demonstrated involvement in student council and/or club or organization during high school years
Application Process - submit leadership scholar application and essay along with extracurricular resume to Admissions. Student Affairs will review all applications to determine eligibility and qualified applicants will then be invited for an interview (in person or via phone/skype)
Requirements for Leadership Scholars:
Year 1
- Attend Summer Leadership Conference
- Attend Lions Leadership Forum
- Attend one leadership series workshop per semester
- Join MSG and/or a student club
Year 2
- Attend Summer Leadership Conference
- Attend Lions Leadership Forum
- Attend one leadership series workshop per semester
- Serve as an active member of MSG and/or a student club
- Serve as a leadership scholar mentor
Year 3
- Attend Summer Leadership Conference and help facilitate sessions/serve as mentor
- Attend Lions Leadership Forum
- Attend one leadership series workshop per semester
- Assume a leadership position within MSG and/or student club executive board
- Serve as a leadership scholar mentor
Year 4
- Attend Lions Leadership Forum
- Attend one leadership series workshop per semester
- Maintain a leadership position within MSG and/or student club executive board
- Serve as a leadership scholar mentor
- Collaboratively host a senior year leadership program/session/workshop for first-year leadership scholar cohort
MEDIA SCHOLARS
Eligibility - demonstrated involvement in yearbook, newspaper, new media, social media or AV clubs during high school years
Application Process - submit media scholar application and essay along with extracurricular resume, sample work and/or portfolio to Admissions. MolloyLife Media will review all applications to determine eligibility and qualified applicants will then be invited for an interview (in person or via phone/skype)
Year 1
- Attend Summer Media Training
- Attend Fall or Spring Media Conference
- Be an active member of MolloyLife Student Media
- Event coverage
- Attend Thursday Staff Meetings
- Assist in Production of NewsNow or Yearbook
- Assist Student Media Department editors
Year 2
- Attend Summer Media Training
- Attend Fall Media Conference
- Attend Spring Media Conference
- Be an active member of MolloyLife Student Media
- Event Coverage
- Attend Editor and Staff Meetings
- Assist in Production of NewsNow or Yearbook
- Write for the Molloy Forum
- Assist Student Media Department Editors
- Serve as a media scholar mentor
Year 3
- Attend Summer Media Conference
