Graduation

 Students must submit the Graduation Application using the Lion's Den portal. Student may request their preferred name presentation for the diploma. Students who are registered to complete any remaining courses for their degree requirements during the summer and who have filed for August graduation (deadline on March 1) are allowed to participate in May commencement ceremonies. Students must be registered for their final requirements in Summer courses to show their degree will be completed in August. Students in the Applied Associate of Science programs in Allied Health, which are two and a half year long programs ending in August are encouraged to participate. Doctoral students must have defended their dissertations prior to the end of Spring term to participate and be honored in the May ceremony.August candidates for graduation will not be eligible for the following honors listings in the commencement or convocation brochures:

  • Departmental Honors
  • Honors Cords (Fourragères)
  • Degree Distinction notations in the program
  • Honor societies

Only students who have completed all requirements for May graduation will be eligible to be listed for tentative honors recognition. Any exceptions to these policies must have the written approval of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.The commencement ceremony in May each year and all activities related to it are managed by the Office of Student Affairs. Important ceremony and event information are emailed to the potential graduate from the Office of Students Affairs. The commencement ceremony held annually in May, is managed by the Office of Student Affairs. A pamphlet detailing special dates for the distribution of caps and gowns, celebrations, commencement rehearsals, hooding and class night, yearbook photographs and ceremonies  is available from the Office of Student Affairs. Dates for special graduation events are also posted on the college website.
