Molloy Graduate Student Wins Prestigious Regional Award
Molloy graduate student Lori McAndrew is the recipient of the 2017 NARACES Outstanding Graduate Student Award.
McAndrew, who will complete her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) in 2018, was recognized by NARACES (North Atlantic Region Association for Counselor Education and Supervision).
"To win this prestigious award is an honor and I am thankful for the guidance, encouragement and dedication of the CMHC faculty as I have pursued my academic goals," said McAndrew.
"We launched our program just a few years ago and we strive for excellence in everything we do," said Laura Kestemberg, Ph.D., who is the Director and Chair of Molloy's Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and nominated McAndrew for the award. "Lori McAndrew is a great representative of the high quality of our program, and we expect she will continue to shine as she finishes her academic work and launches her career."
McAndrew currently serves as an intern at Suffolk Community College, in their counseling center, and hopes to work with college students upon graduating next summer. She has been working at Molloy since 2003 and currently is a member of Molloy's Facilities team.
NARACES honors students for a variety of factors, including GPA (3.5 or higher), evidence of leadership skills, involvement in research, and demonstration of presentation skills.
