Officer Quarterly Award
The Department of Public Safety is proud to recognize Public Safety Officers Kevin Tierney and Scott Liebegott as the recipients of its Quarterly Award for Excellence.
On November 19, 2016 while performing patrol duties during the overnight tour both P.S.O. Tierney and P.S.O. Liebegott did smell smoke and started to investigate where it was emanating from. After determining that the Main Campus was safe and secure both Officers went to the homes adjacent to campus to determine if our neighbors needed help. The Officers discovered that Molloy College Alumni House was on fire. After requesting the Public Safety Command Center to notify the Fire Department to respond, and determining that Alumni House had no occupants, both Officers started to check to see if any of our neighbor's home were on fire or if they needed assistance. All of our neighbor's home were safe and no one needed further assistance. Several Fire Departments responded and extinguished the fire. Officer Tierney and Officer Liebegott showed true dedication to both Molloy College and the community we reside in by ensuring that not only the College was safe but our neighbors were not in harms way.
