Officer Quarterly Award
The Department of Public Safety is proud to recognize Public Safety Officer Thomas Havey as the recipient of its Quarterly Award for Excellence.
Officer Havey joined the Department in July of 2009 and started to work the 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. tour. He can usually be spotted performing bike patrol and his pleasant demeanor and willingness to help is always a welcomed sight on campus. Over the summer break several members of the Public Safety department were out sick for scheduled surgeries or injuries and Thomas stepped up and sacrificed most of his summer break to ensure that the campus' safety needs were met.
Thomas is a proud retired member of the New York City Police Department with his last assignment being a training officer for newly officers assigned to the 100th Precinct in Queens. Thomas has been married to his wife Eileen for 32 years and they are the parents of Taryn, who is a graduate of Molloy College and currently is teaching in Brooklyn, and Brian, who works in the Athletic Department at Molloy.
