National Grid Foundation (NGF)

Since 2011, National Grid Foundation (NGF) has provided $205,000 to date ($30,000 to $35,000 annually) to fund Teaching Green Institutes, held each summer at the Suffolk Center, in collaboration with the Division of Education, Division of Continuing Education and Sustainability Institute. Through this successful partnership between NGF and Molloy, more than 175 teachers have taken advantage of the unique opportunity to participate in one or more institutes, one geared for middle school teachers and another for high school level.

By providing feedback through evaluative surveys and anecdotes, participants applaud the value of these learning experiences held in the classroom and out in the field, finding much of the material practical for application with their own students raising awareness of sustainability issues.
