Women's Bowling Team Headed to Championships

By Dr. Robert Cincotta, Head Women's Bowling Coach

The Molloy women's bowling team will be headed to Allentown, Penn. to compete in the sectionals round of the Intercollegiate Team Championships March 11 and 12 following a successful 2016-17 season.

In order to compete at the Intercollegiate Team Sectionals, an intercollegiate bowling team must become one of the top 80 men's or top 64 women's schools during the regular season. Schools are ranked based on their performance in United States Bowling Congress (USBC) events. Teams that win their conference championships will also earn an automatic bid to the Sectionals.

Based on the Lions' performance during the regular season, the squad will be advancing to the program's first-ever postseason appearance at the Allentown, Penn. Sectionals with an opportunity to compete for the Helmer Cup at the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships in Baton Rouge, La. April 19-22.

Before appearing in the Sectionals, the maroon and white will host the inaugural Molloy College Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 25).
