Staten Island Advance: Nick Corbett begins college career with a big bang

Monsignor Farrell product and former Advance All-Star Nick Corbett seems to have made the adjustment from high school to college without a hitch.
Photo courtesy of Staten Island AdvanceFollowing an impressive opening week for Molloy College, the freshman guard was awarded Rookie of the Week honors by the East Coast Conference, the Advance learned.

Corbett, the 2015-2016 boys' Jaques Award winner as the Island's top player, averaged 15. points per game over his first two collegiate contests, including a team-high 20 point performance against the College of Saint Rose last Sarurday. He also finished with a double-digit point total the following day against Le Moyne. Corbett shot above 50 percent in all categories, including 85.7 percent from the foul line. He also averaged 3.0 rebounds and 4.0 assist per game on the week.
