Service to Others
Sarah Marshall, '04 and '05, Patient and Community Health Educator at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Chamberlain University in Healthcare Systems Leadership.
Since the pandemic, with no community programming, Sarah has been working in patient information, screening for exceptions to the "no visitors" rule. OB patients in active labor and pediatric patients are permitted visitors, but they have to be carefully screened by Sarah before they are permitted access into the hospital. She also screens vendors who serve in the hospital.
Sarah and her husband generously donated meals for 300 staff members at the hospital. She lives her life in service to others.
