Service projects honor anniversaries
During this Lenten season, the Molloy Community came together in the spirit of the great Dominican tradition of serving others. The 800th/60th Anniversary Service committee organized the first ever, Molloy Employee Midnight Run, providing food, clothing and toiletries to those living on the streets of New York City.
This night was a great success due to the donations from the Molloy community and the support of our volunteers. Our volunteers found it to be a powerful and moving experience, one volunteer explaining, "...it was so nice to meet the gentle people who are on the streets. It makes all of those collections so much more meaningful! I couldn't help but come away with a deeper appreciation for what we have and a desire to continue to do all we can to live out the mission of Molloy."
Molloy Employee Midnight Run
On March 19, seven Molloy employees and students volunteered with the Friends of Rockaway and helped rebuild a home that was under seven feet of water from Superstorm Sandy. It was a day of hard work and lots of laughs, and the students expressed their interest in doing this service project every year! It was a great day and another opportunity for Molloy to show who we are by the way we serve others.
