Ilona Varga Graduate Education Scholarship Fund Benefit Event
You are cordially invited to join Dr. Andrea Honigsfeld for a special event to benefit the Ilona Varga Graduate Education Scholarship Fund. Friday, February 15 in the Madison Theatre at Molloy College. Cocktail reception begins at 6 p.m. The featured performance of the evening will be Improvised Shakespeare at 7 p.m. Please RSVP to Debra Falk at firstname.lastname@example.org or 516.678.5000 ext. 6397 by Tuesday, February 5.
Dr. Andrea Honigsfeld remembers her mother, Ilona Varga, as a most decisive force in her pursuit of formal education. A self-taught mother of five, she was a sought-after theater prop design artist; her work for the local theater in Debrecen, Hungary, involved making hats, jewelry and other accessories to complement costumes for the performances. Although she had only a high-school diploma, she instilled in her children a love of books, a passion for learning and a deep understanding of the importance of higher education. The purpose of the Ilona Varga Graduate Scholarship is to support a Molloy graduate education student who is pursuing advanced studies.
The grant recipient should be the first in his/her immediate family to take the opportunity to further his/her education, as Andrea was able to, with her mother's unfaltering encouragement.
