New Molloy Community Program Off to a Great Start
Molloy College is excited to report a new collaborative program to kick-in the new year between The Rebecca Center for Music Therapy, Center for Autism and Child Development and The Backyard Players & Friends--a unique inclusive arts-based community program dedicated to enhancing social and interpersonal skills for teens and young adults of all abilities through Theatre Arts, Yoga, Zumba, Movie Bites and Community and Recreational Education.
This exciting new program continues to connect the community with Molloy College programs while providing cutting edge Developmental Relationship-based services for individuals and families in need. In addition, it expands our ability to offer unique learning & training opportunities for our Molloy students while advancing the mission of Molloy College.
Although this program is in its infancy stage, it is already serving between 40-50 individuals per week!. This brings our client roster to nearly 200 families per week! Furthermore, it builds onto our already successful training/internship programing by involving students from a variety of disciplines including Nursing, Education, Speech Language Pathology and Music Therapy. Finally, this new program provides a unique opportunity for participants to gain valuable real life work experience!
If any faculty, staff, and/or students would like to participate in any of our clinical, recreational, or research programs please do not hesitate to give me a call. Our various programs include a range of disciplines and are in action Mondays and Tuesdays: 9 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.; Wednesdays & Thursday: 9 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.; Fridays: 9 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.; and Saturdays: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
